We get a lot of questions about building in a pandemic and about our specific process. We are much different than building a production home or jumping into a spec half way through the process. We are proud of the customer service that we give to our clients and want every aspect of their homes to feel like them. Here’s a few of the questions we get all the time.
Q: Do we build spec homes?
A: The short answer is no. We are a presold custom design + build company which means that we don’t start a home without a specific family we are working with to design and build a magnificent home. We do however collaborate with investors from time to time to build spec homes. We are lucky enough to be in partnership with James Collection to launch their spec collection in 2022.
Q: Do we still do remodels?
A: We do some remodels. Because of the trade and staff shortages we are unable to take on projects that are not a full gut and remodel. If a remodel is upwards of a million dollars we will look at it but cannot take on smaller scopes at this time.
Q: How long does it take to build?
A: This answer varies on part of town you want to build in. If there’s an HOA attached and they are involved in the design of the home it could be two years from design to move in. If you are looking to build in a neighborhood like Columbine Valley it could take less time depending on the size of the home due to how quickly the HOA and the city permitting are turned around. The safe answer for most of Denver is 18+ months.
Q: With all the ports backed up how do you get materials to build your homes?
A: We spend a lot of time talking to different vendors to make sure we are ordering supplies months ahead of time. We use a great software called Co-Construct to get sign offs on what our clients pick out and take it from there. We use spreadsheets to track when to order product, and when it will be delivered. The pandemic did make this more complicated but we now have a Purchasing Manager to manage this process.
Q: Where do you build?
A: We build all over the Denver Metro Area. We have built as far north as West Arvada and as far south as Castle Pines. We build in your neighborhood of choice and have a great group of realtors that help us find lots where you want to live if you don’t have a lot.
