Outdoor living

Colorado offers a unique backdrop for outdoor living with its stunning landscapes and diverse climates. It is incredibly important when building a home to incorporate these spaces into your plan. In design, we explore various design styles and uses for our clients. To create a cohesive design, we talk through lighting, materials, furniture planning, as well as fireplaces, outdoor kitchens, and pools.

Embracing Colorado’s natural beauty is part of our process. In order to create a lower maintenance and environmentally friendly space, we recommend using Colorado’s native flora such as columbines and blue spruce so that it thrives in our local climate. This can also attract pollinators like butterflies and hummingbirds to your property. We love incorporating rustic elements like natural stone accents and wood to give these outdoor spaces a retreat vibe.

Many of our clients take advantage of al fresco dining on Colorado’s sunny days. By adding outdoor kitchens, a designated outdoor dining space, and built in heaters or fireplaces, we are able to extend the season of outdoor dining. Incorporating lighting into these areas to create different moods and provide a space to dine into the night.

Firepits are also big part of entertaining and outdoor living. Strategizing where these are located on the property can create a cozy place to spend an evening. Whether the goal is to stargaze or create a space for year round enjoyment, understanding our clients usage is important.

Creating space for outdoor recreation activities can also change the layout of your outdoor living. Considering outdoor seating, pools, yoga and meditation areas, and gardens is a big part of the process. Having a custom green house may change the design of a home, and adding a pool needs extra planning on how the pool faces the sun. We love having these conversations and understanding what the perfect balance is for our clients.
