Navigating the Ever-Changing Landscape
It is an interesting time that we live in. Coronavirus has really thrown us all a curve ball this year, and while we adjust to new social norms and government regulations, we are doing our best to support those who support us. For years, we have worked with small businesses around the Denver Metro area and Colorado from building material suppliers, to the extraordinary tradesmen and craftsmen in our homes. The reason we are able to build such incredible homes is due to these partnerships and working family we have built around ourselves.
We are a long-time member of the Home Builders Associate of Metro Denver, and every year there is an award given to the top builders who have been nominated by their trade base. The HAP Award stands for, Homebuilder and Associates in Partnership. We have been fortunate to win that award, as well as be a finalist annually among other Custom Home Builders. This award is one of the greatest honors a home builder can receive.
On our Instagram page over the past two weeks we have featured many companies who make a Larsen custom home come to fruition. From PBM Excavating, our wonderful partners who do all of our ground work, to our outstanding painting company, Venture Painting, we would like you to know who these faces are when you happen upon them on a jobsite. Many of our trade partners have been with us for over 10 years and we have created a great bond with all of them. When our project managers meet them on site, or catch them on a phone call, you often hear conversations about how someone’s weekend was, if anyone wants to play golf after work, or checking in our trade partners families. We build custom homes for families, with the help of our extended family of trades and vendors.
For years we have been refining processes with our trade partners by having annual sit-down meetings to see what has worked, and equally as important: what didn’t. These discussions have helped Larsen as a company grow and learn how to be efficient and thoughtful about how we build. When we design things like a wine cellar or custom built-ins we like to talk to the trim carpenter and hammer out the details so they are perfect. When we walk our homes with our tile setters from Pinnacle Hardwood, we lay out our tile together knowing they are the best in the business and have expertise on the best practice for this. The owner of Central Deco Hardware personally comes to the jobsite himself to place hardware with our interior design team, and our electrician and light fixture sales person at Urban Lights have a personal relationship to ensure the greatest results. Our mason has brick supplied from Summit Brick and General Shale Brick, and stone from Rio Grande, and has the best attention to detail we have ever seen.
We have been fortunate enough during this shelter order to be considered an essential business so that we could, in turn, help these smaller companies stay in business and keep their contractors on the payroll. We have all worked together to create safety practices that work for all of us. It’s an amazing thing to be able to band together during this time and solidify our partnership even further.
