Hidden Gem: Columbine Country Club
There are many neighborhoods around the Denver Metro area that we believe are hidden gems. Columbine Country Club is absolutely one of those. With a brand new $25,000,000 club house that opened its doors last year, featuring fabulous amenities that include hourly daycare while you work out, golf or eat dinner, delicious restaurants, his and hers private owners’ lounges, and a full gym including Pilates and yoga studios, it is hard to beat as one of the most comfortable neighborhoods in Colorado. It’s just a short drive from downtown Denver, off of Santa Fe, with easy access to the mountains, and adjacent to the great shops and restaurants in Downtown Littleton.
The new club house was built by Hyder Construction, recently completed in 2018. They said that “the overall design has a European flair with a Colorado sensitivity befitting the Columbine Valley neighborhood. Expansive windows provide exterior views of the course, and operable glass walls enhance the indoor/outdoor experience.” The clubs’ pools and seven tennis courts were renovated a few years ago and the driving range was expanded. Mike Bratcher, the clubs’ general manager said, “With 200 youth involved in golf, 160 in swimming, and 170 in tennis, Columbine has one of the strongest family-oriented junior programs in Colorado.” The Larsen team can attest to this. We took a tour with Director of Sales and Member Experience, Leah Caillier, and got to see their amazing family friendly spaces, adults only areas including a golf simulator, vast wine room that could be rented for parties, as well as a kid friendly dining room with free childcare activities during the summer months and an adults only restaurant and bar with a more upscale menu.
This ranch community was built in 1955 and has been home to so many wonderful families over the years. Larsen Development began building in Columbine Valley in 2014 when a client introduced us to the neighborhood. Since then, we have designed and built 5 luxury custom homes, with an additional 4 new custom homes beginning construction this Spring. These quiet streets and lots are perfect for custom ranch home development. The Wild Plum development set off of Fairway Lane on the Southeast side of the neighborhood has 11 custom lots. We have been fortunate enough to have access to these lots, 8 of which are up for sale ranging from $475,000-$600,000. The rest of the Wild Plum lots will have access via the southernmost entrance off of Hunter Run Lane and Platte Canyon, and will be a production blend of semi-custom homes by Lennar Homes.
Columbine Valley is a very welcoming community where friendships are everlasting. You feel at home and everyone in your family will make friends for a lifetime. Located in the city of Littleton, it is part of one of the best school districts in the Denver Metro Area. The golf course itself is ranked as one of the top 10 best private courses in Colorado by Golf Digest. It was home to the 1967 PGA Championship on its par-72 18-hole golf course.
